Alabama football’s linebacker coach Chuck Morrell made a trip to Pennsylvania to check in on Brandon Lockley this week.

Lockley is a 2027 four-star linebacker prospect, and he attends St. Joseph’s Prep High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The four-star is considering Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Nebraska, Penn State and other college football programs.

Morrell ensured Lockley he remains a top target for the Tide when he visited the Pennsylvania prospect.

“It meant a lot having coach Morrell come visit,” Lockley told Touchdown Alabama. “I really enjoyed our conversation and getting a better feel for his coaching style and the vision for the program. He let me know how high of a priority I am. I appreciate him for that. It was a great visit.”

Morrell offered Lockley in August. The Alabama linebacker coach visited the four-star in Pennsylvania in January before Lockley made it to the campus of the University of Alabama in March to visit the Tide. Lockley said he was high on Alabama after visiting a month ago.

“It was a great experience,” Lockley said. “Seeing the intensity and tempo of practice really stood out to me. Loved seeing how detailed the coaching is and how competitive everything is.”

Alabama will get Lockley back on campus in May for an official visit.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder takes great angles in pursuit of the football with the ability to make tackles in space. He is also comfortable in coverage while defending against the pass. Alabama sees him as a fit at inside linebacker.
