BREAKING: Jacksonville 6-foot-5 TE commits to Virginia Tech

Braxton Salster has announced a verbal commitment to Virginia Tech. He chose the Hokies over Auburn, Ole Miss and others.

“First I want to thank my Lord Jesus Christ for the family, friends, coaches and abilities he has given me,” Salster said. “Without him, there is nothing. I want to thank all the coaches in my life that have believed in me. I want to thank Virginia Tech and the coaching staff for this amazing opportunity. After months of prayer, I can truly say Virginia Tech is the place for me.”

Salster attends Pleasant Valley High School in Jacksonville, Alabama. The 6-foot-5 prospect is expected to play tight end on the next level, despite not primarily lining up in the spot at the moment.

On Friday nights, Salster is an athletic and physical weapon for Pleasant Valley. When he breaks out the pocket, one can see why college coaches see Salster as a possible weapon at the next level with the ball in his hands.
