Alius Mayo is set to announce a commitment decision on Aug. 2, according to a post he made on X.
Mayo is a junior college defensive back, and he attends Modesto Junior College in California. He will choose between offers from Alabama, Cal, LSU and others,
The Crimson Tide offered Mayo in June when they got him on campus for a visit. He immediately transitioned into officially visiting Alabama after the offer.

Mayo looks as if he could be a perfect fit in Tuscaloosa if he were to choose the Tide. The 6-foot-4 defensive back is a long and athletic cornerback who possesses a large cover radius with his long arms. That physical trait allows him to consistently play through the hands of pass catchers as a defender. His highlights are filled with plenty of pass breakups. He also possesses the ability to make tackles in space, which is something the Tide prioritizes on all levels of its defense, especially in the secondary.
