Alius Mayo has announced a commitment to Cal. He committed to the Bears over Alabama and others.
Mayo is a junior college defensive prospect, and he attends Modesto Junior College in California. Multiple recruiting sites consider him to be the No. 1 junior college prospect for the 2027 recruiting cycle. His decision leaves the Tide with one defensive back pledge in the 2027 recruiting class.
The Crimson Tide had been recruiting Mayo since offering him in June and hosting him for an official visit. Cal hosted Mayo for an official visit before the Tide offered him.
