The social team is typically an asset to prop up young or emerging players during the early days of NFL training camp.
But most of the time it doesn’t come at the expense of a team’s franchise quarterback.
That is what made the Eagles’ post all the more curious this week when it shared a clip of quarterback Jalen Hurts getting picked off by second year cornerback Quinyon Mitchell on a poor pass intended for Marquis Brown.
The post has been put under the microscope due to the considerable criticism Hurts has received over the previous two years and even more so following Philadelphia trading away a reportedly frustrated AJ Brown.
Former NFL player and media personality Emmanuel Acho pointed out that the video had received over 4 million views in five hours and hinting that someone could be losing their job over it.
Regardless of the single throw during the first weeks of training camp, Hurts certainly needs to right the ship of the Eagles passing game alongside his seventh new offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion.
