DeBoer updates the injury status of Lotzeir Brooks and EJ Crowell

Alabama football head coach Kalen DeBoer updated the status of two playmakers that have been dealing with injuries throughout fall camp.

Sophomore wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks and EJ Crowell did not play in either of Alabama’s fall camp scrimmages that were held the past two Thursdays due to injury, and DeBoer provided an update about when the two skill players could be ready to go.

“[Lotzeir] is out there practicing, taking reps,” DeBoer said when discussing Brooks. “Close to full go. He’s been doing that for a few days now.”

EJ Crowell was seen sporting a walking boot when going into Bryant-Denny Stadium this weekend, and DeBoer updated his injury status on Monday too.

“EJ is slowly progressing,” DeBoer said. “I’m hopeful that he’ll be ready to roll for the first game. Can’t definitively say that yet, but he was out there working into it and progressing here as we would’ve expected.”

DeBoer sounds optimistic about having Brooks and Crowell ready to go for the Crimson Tide’s home opener against East Carolina on Sept. 5.
