Alabama wide receiver Noah Rogers suffered a brutal knee injury during the Crimson Tide’s spring game in April.
Rogers originally transferred from NC State to Alabama earlier in the offseason. The route runner was expected to play an essential role on the Tide’s offense prior to his injury, but Rogers will likely miss the early stages of the season as he continues with his recovery.
The former Wolfpack star appears to be recovering well ahead of schedule, however, as head coach Kalen DeBoer recently shared an update on Rogers’ status.
“Noah’s had the chance to get on the field the last few days.” DeBoer said. “Going back to the spring game, A-Day, when the injury happened, the timeline that he was on and where we expected, is much ahead of that. And that’s an attribute to his mindset, his positivity. From the time he was diagnosed, he was still up here. He wasn’t going to let it deter him from continuing to move forward and make the most out of every day he could. Our team just celebrated him being back out there, he’s not doing team drills or anything like that, but he’s making a progression and he’s much ahead of schedule from what we originally thought.”
Rogers recorded 919 yards and three touchdowns across the last two seasons at NC State. The route runner has flashed major potential on countless occasions throughout his collegiate career, and Rogers should emerge with a critical role when he proves to be fully healthy in the near future.
DeBoer’s update in regard to Rodgers’ status is massive news, and the veteran appears to be bouncing back well following his knee injury suffered on A-Day.
