Alabama DC shares update on freshman DB’s mindset following surgery

Alabama Defensive Back Jireh Edwards (10) during practice at Thomas-Drew Practice Fields in Tuscaloosa, AL on Sunday, Mar 8, 2026.

Alabama defensive back Jireh Edwards recently underwent surgery for a right arm injury suffered during practice last week.

Edwards will be sidelined to begin the year, but the injury is not considered to be season-ending. The freshman was widely regarded as one of the top overall players from the 2025 class, and Edwards will likely play a significant role in the Tide’s secondary this season when fully healthy.
