DeBoer says Alabama will get 2 injured players back soon

Alabama football’s head coach Kalen DeBoer told reporters Monday that the Crimson Tide is expected to have a trio of injured players back in the future.

Multiple injured Alabama players were on the field warming up for the Tide ahead of their matchup against East Carolina. DeBoer provided the latest on AK Dear, Noah Rogers and Jireh Edwards.

“I think your guys that are the closest are Jireh and AK, and then Noah just down the road here just a little bit, but wanted to get them out there, just keeping the progression and part of their transition back, but I think Jireh and AK, you can see here very soon,” DeBoer said. “All three, process of recovery, has gone very smooth. Probably quicker than you’d expect, but we also got to be careful.”

Edwards and Dear were injured during fall camp. Rogers, a wide receiver who transferred from North Carolina State to Alabama, went down with an injury in the Tide’s spring game.

Dear is expected to be a key part of the Crimson Tide’s running back rotation. Edwards is one of the freshmen who the Tide will likely play some meaningful snaps in their secondary.
