The Alabama Crimson Tide are set to begin SEC play on the road this weekend with a matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats.
Alabama defeated ECU by a final score of 48-10 last weekend, as the Tide will look to keep things rolling against the Wildcats in Lexington. Saturday’s contest has quietly become a highly anticipated matchup following each team’s success in Week 1, and the Tide will need to be at their best once again considering the hostile environment at Kroger Field this weekend.
Kentucky tight end Mikkel Skinner recently took a moment to share his thoughts on Saturday’s matchup, as Skinner believes the Crimson Tide will be an easy win for the Wildcats.
“When people think of Bama they think ‘Oh, it’s Bama’. But no other team prepares like we do.” Skinner said. “Going there knowing what we need to do, it’s really nothing. As long as we are prepared, go out there and fight as a team, I got my brothers over anybody so it’s really nothing.”
Skinner recorded 61 yards and one touchdown during the Wildcats’ 45-13 win over Youngstown State. Alabama’s defense will face their first true test of the season against Skinner and the rest of Kentucky’s talented offense, and the tight end may have put a massive target on his back following his comments.
