3 Alabama defenders earn SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors

Alabama football had three defenders earn Defensive Player of the Week honors after beating Kentucky.

Luke Metz, Caleb Woodson and Devan Thompkins all earned SEC Player of the Week honors.

Woodson led the Crimson Tide in tackles with 12. He also added two sacks and two tackles for loss.

Metz had eight total tackles and an interception he returned for a touchdown.

Thompkins finished the game with six total tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Each player played a major role in Alabama’s 45-17 win over Kentucky.

The Tide will be back in action Saturday against Florida State.
