ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith went on First Take Wednesday and said that some former Alabama players told him they are not sold on Kalen DeBoer.

Smith was asked about DeBoer after the Alabama head coach led the Crimson Tide to a win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The win put DeBoer on pace with Nick Saban through 33 games. Both coaches won 25 games during that stretch.

While DeBoer has the Tide in a good position ahead of a big matchup against Georgia, Smith says he is not the only one not sold on DeBoer.

“You talk to the cats that used to be at Alabama; I am not going to mention no names because they don’t want to be quoted like that,” Smith said. “You think I just make this stuff up? I am Stephen A. baby. Let me tell you something. I talked to these people, and I am telling you right now. There is a whole bunch of cats that have rolled out of Alabama that we have seen star on the NFL level that are still Alabama fans, and they ain’t sold on Alabama under Kalen DeBoer either.”

Alabama and DeBoer will get a shot at getting more people on board Saturday when the Tide take on Georgia at home in a top-10 matchup.
