The Alabama Crimson Tide is entering a critical five-game stretch to end the year following their second loss of the season in Knoxville last weekend.

The Tide will more than likely need to win out in order to qualify for the College Football Playoff. Alabama’s back-to-back losses to Georgia and Tennessee exposed multiple  weaknesses on both sides of the football, and each unit has dealt with a handful of significant injuries during the two week stretch as well.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer took a moment to reveal the team’s mindset entering a do-or-die situation across the next five weeks, as DeBoer claims maintaining a “1-0” mindset will be critical throughout the stretch.

“We got one, not 5.” DeBoer said. “We got one, and so that’s the key. We’re focused on the one right now, and we always talk about the next play is the most important play. The next game is the only one that matters, and that’s what we’re focused on. These guys have put together a couple of good days, we still have a lot more preparation as far as just refining and dialing in the game plan to another level. Continuing to get guys and their health back to them being out there, and go get it done on Saturday.”

DeBoer and the Tide have mentioned a “1-0” mindset on numerous occasions throughout the first seven weeks of the regular season. Alabama is set to host the Texas A&M Aggies at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and the Tide will need to take full advantage of a struggling Marcel Reed and an underwhelming Aggies’ offense as a whole.
