Kalen DeBoer reacts to Lane Kiffin’s thoughts on Alabama vs. LSU kickoff time

Lane Kiffin appeared to be not all that happy with LSU having to face Alabama football in an afternoon matchup instead of a night game.

The Alabama vs. LSU game has found itself played at night on several occasions. So much so that Lane Kiffin didn’t bother to think the game would be played at any other time.

“I mean, I was shocked. I didn’t even think to even think about the time.” Kiffin said. “I just assumed, especially in 16 years, this game has been at night here all the time, in the last 16 years. I never even thought or considered that it wouldn’t be at night, so I guess that’s probably naive of me. I was joking earlier when people were saying, well, obviously, the SEC wanted to change this year from how it’s been to give LSU less advantage of, obviously, with how well LSU plays at night, how intimidating it is to play here. I was like, well, someone thinks the SEC wants us to win this year after what’s been going on, they must have just been on Mars the last four months. I guess when I look at it that way, I’m not surprised.”

Kalen DeBoer was asked about his thoughts on the kickoff time on Monday after Kiffin’s statement.

“I feel like we’re on the road,” DeBoer said. “I’d rather play at home if we’re going to have all the advantages. I don’t get to choose that. I don’t have any choice in that. It is what it is. We just got to show up and play.”

LSU will host Alabama on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
