Ryan Coleman-Williams shows why Alabama missed him against LSU

Alabama was able to secure a massive victory on the road this weekend, as the Tide defeated LSU 31-13 in Baton Rouge.

Crimson Tide star Ryan Coleman-Williams was nothing short of excellent in his return from injury today. Coleman-Williams recorded 14 total yards on two receptions, but the talented junior scored a rushing touchdown on an end around in the first quarter as well.

Alabama’s offense as a whole was able to thrive in Coleman-Williams’ return today. The route runner was credited with a critical 32-yard punt return late in the second half, as head coach Kalen DeBoer took a moment to comment on the play following the win.

“First of all, I just think Ryan brings a lot to us, even when it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet,” DeBoer said. “He brings just an energy to us throughout the course of the week, there’s a presence he has when he’s on the football field. For us, there’s just a little better flow and everything is in sync. That return, just anytime he touches the football he can be electric. The other team is probably holding their breath whenever he does, and tonight he showed he’s capable. He worked really hard to get back.”

Alabama defensive back Red Morgan took a moment to comment on Coleman-Williams’ performance as well.

“You see what he does on the field, man,” Morgan said. “Having him on the field, it’s great. Just having him back is a great feeling for us.”

Coleman-Williams has been deeply missed by the Tide’s offense during his absence, and the numbers show it. Alabama as a team tonight looked like the version of themselves we saw over the first 5 weeks of the season, and Coleman-Williams will now look to build upon his promising performance next weekend against Vanderbilt.
