A total of 25 Crimson Tide student-athletes are slated to receive diplomas this weekend during The University of Alabama’s winter commencement. The list includes Heisman Trophy and Nagurski Trophy winners, five All-Americans and two Academic All-Americans, with 21 student-athletes taking home undergraduate degrees and four earning graduate degrees.
The Crimson Tide is graduating 13 members of its football team, including Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and two-time Nagurski Trophy winner Will Anderson Jr., who both graduated in three years with grade point averages (GPAs) over 3.0. In addition to Young and Anderson Jr., fellow All-American Jordan Battle and starters DJ Dale, DeMarcco Hellams, Henry To’oTo’o and Byron Young all earned degrees during the fall, along with Bret Bolin, Tanner Bowles, Braylen Ingraham, Jack Martin, Joshua Robinson and Trey Sanders. Bolin and Dale both earned graduate degrees.
Four members of the 2022 College Cup and Southeastern Conference champion soccer squad – Allie Berk, Reyna Reyes, Kat Rogers and Riley Mattingly Tanner – earned degrees in December. Reyes, who earned All-America and Academic All-America honors, was a MAC Herman Trophy semifinalist and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Rogers also earned Academic All-America honors after graduating with both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees with perfect 4.0 GPAs.
All-American Christal Mosley and Allison Wilson from women’s track and field/cross country are also set to graduate along with Allie Craig Cruce and JaMya Mingo-Young from women’s basketball, with Cruce earning her master’s degree.
Simms Abney (men’s golf), Ella Maggio and Claudia Mecchia (rowing) and Hunter Hoopes (baseball) are also slated to receive their degrees this weekend, with Maggio earning a perfect 4.0 GPA.
