The University of Alabama football program has had numerous first-round picks in its history for the NFL Draft.
However, it has never produced a No. 1 overall pick in the common draft. Nick Saban can change that for himself and the institution with quarterback, Bryce Young. Several mock drafts and draft experts have the California native as the No. 1 pick for April’s event. As a former five-star in 2020, Young served as Mac Jones’ backup on a College Football Playoff National Championship team. He became a starter in 2021 and set the world on fire, becoming the first Tide signal-caller to win the Heisman Memorial Trophy. Young increased his legendary status last year, despite not winning a national title as a starter.

This year’s draft class is filled with talented prospects, but Young appears to be the toast of the class.
He finished his career at Alabama ranked No. 2 all-time for passing yards (8,356), passing touchdowns (80), and total touchdowns (87). Young led the Crimson Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship in 2021 and was a two-time team captain.
