Nick Saban offers hard-nosed TE Eli Owens

Eli Owens earned an offer from Alabama while visiting the Crimson Tide for junior day Saturday.

Owens is a sophomore at Alcoa High School in Tennessee. The 2025 recruit holds more than 10 D1 offers.

Nick Saban informed Owens of his offer Saturday.

“I was in a meeting with coach Saban where he said he liked my film and gave me the offer,” Owens told Touchdown Alabama. “I was In awe. Everybody wants to hear those words from Nick Saban. It is really awesome to be able to experience that. I feel like it just opens up a whole bunch of more opportunities for me. There is really not much to say. It is Alabama. You know what your getting yourself into at a school like that.”

Owens went on to give thoughts about Saban.

“He is a great guy, really honored to be able to meet him,” Owens said.

It is not hard to see why Alabama offered the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder when you watch his film.

Saban has consistently talked about the desire to recruit tight ends, who can put their hand in the ground and get dirty. Owens has proven he can do that with his physical type of play. Alcoa has a heavy-run offense, which allows Owens to get valuable blocking experience.

The new Alabama target is a physical prospect after the catch as well.
