He was taken in the first round of the NFL Draft because of his speed, explosiveness, playmaking abilities, and versatility in the passing game. Fans of the Lions are seeing why its team chose to select Gibbs at No. 12 overall. He showed in one season at the University of Alabama he was worthy of a first-round flyer. The 5-foot-9, 199-pounder had 926 yards rushing, 444 yards receiving, 258 kick return yards, and ten touchdowns. Gibbs led the Crimson Tide for receptions in 2022 (44) and had three touchdown catches. According to NFL Rookie Watch, the native Georgian is off to a ‘hot start’ with the Lions’ first-team offense.
