The sense of urgency for Alabama football is finally through the roof.
It should not have taken two losses to Southeastern Conference schools in the state of Tennessee for this to happen; however, it remains better to arise late than not at all. A different intensity happened throughout the week of practice with the Crimson Tide preparing to host Missouri for homecoming. Players for the Tide understand another loss puts it out of the College Football Playoff conversation. They also know that in order to make the 12-team playoff it has to prove convincingly to the CFP Committee it belongs among the group. One of Alabama’s team captains has taken ownership to hold players accountable moving forward.

Tyler Booker, a junior offensive lineman, has been on everybody. He wants to win, he wants to dominate, and he wants to be a national champion. JaMarcus Shephard, the Tide’s wide receivers coach, highlighted Booker on Wednesday during media availability for assistant coaches. Shephard said Booker has brought ‘a fire’ all week in practice in holding guys accountable.

Booker knows the playoff dream and national championship aspirations are still alive.

“I wholeheartedly believe we have the potential to win a national championship this year, but potential is nothing without result,” Booker said.
He believes in his team, but he wants his guys to prove it to themselves. Alabama has a perfect opportunity this weekend to put the CFP Committee on notice. It has to start by handling Missouri on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Other matchups will follow, including road test versus LSU and Oklahoma, but it all begins with Missouri.
It is time for Booker and his teammates to be about action.
