Alabama football is in the conversation to get into the 12-team College Football Playoff.

CFP expert has Alabama football bumped out of 12-team playoff

It has three losses to Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Oklahoma, but the Crimson Tide has caused the CFP Committee to think about is it still one of the best 12 teams to make into the dance. Alabama has three victories over teams currently ranked in the Associated Press’ Top 25 with Georgia (No. 5), South Carolina (No. 13), and Missouri (No. 22). Coach Kalen DeBoer made a statement to Peter Burns and Chris Doering of SEC Network on Tuesday, giving his plea for the Tide to make the playoff.

DeBoer said Alabama is a team that win it all.

“The wins we have and the week to week schedule that we play here in the SEC, it is undeniable what that all is,” he said.

“It is not just the games against the top five or 10, it is the whole season long. It is each and every week, so the strength of schedule for us, the SEC, and then some, it is very deserving with what we did that we are one of the 12 teams. I have been a part of championship teams and in knowing that looks like, the physicality that we have, the explosive we have, we have a defense that creates a ton of turnovers — one of the best in the country — and we are great in critical situations. We are a very balanced football team, but we have some very pronounced strengths. We have the makeup of not just a top 12 team, but a team that could win it all.”

DeBoer laid it out on SEC This Morning via College Sports on SiriusXM Radio.

It has not been pretty for Alabama, but DeBoer believes his team should be in the playoff.

We will see how the CFP Committee views a 9-3 Alabama team in the latest rankings on Tuesday night.
