The Atlanta Falcons released former Alabama defensive back Ronnie Harrison on Tuesday according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Harrison was signed by the Falcons at the beginning of August as a depth piece at linebacker and safety.
Harrison recorded seven total tackles during the Falcons final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Originally a third round selection in 2018 NFL Draft, Harrison spent his first two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and later had stints with the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts.
Harrison has appeared in a total of 84 games including 48 starts across his seven year career. During that span he’s tallied 245 career tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 25 pass deflections and seven interceptions.
Before taking the field in the NFL, Harrison was a standout safety for Alabama from 2015-17, helping the Crimson Tide capture two national championships.
