Alabama offensive tackle, Kadyn Proctor was named as a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award, which is presented to the best offensive or defensive lineman in the country, the Rotary Club of Houston announced on Tuesday morning.

Not only is the award based on player performance on the field, but the character and discipline that also best exemplifies NFL Hall of Famer Vince Lombardi are also taken into account in the voting.

Proctor is one of 13 nominated for the award, and if he were to bring the award home, he’d be the first Tide player to do so since former Alabama linebacker Will Anderson won it in 2022. Only two other Alabama players have won it before Anderson.

With an 81.3 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus, Proctor has been a big threatening presence for the Crimson Tide, and not just on the offensive line. He has also made an appearance on the edge as a wide receiver and in the backfield as a running back so far this season, which has allowed him to acquire one reception, four carries and 26 total yards.

As one of just three SEC players to be nominated as a semifinalist, he will be waiting until Nov. 18, when the finalists for the award will be announced. The winner will then be announced on Dec. 10.

With four games remaining on Alabama’s schedule, Proctor will hope to make every game count in every way he can, as he hopes to help keep the Tide’s postseason hopes alive and potentially hear his name called for the award in December.
