Was this Alabama DB snubbed from Preseason All-SEC team?

Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Dijon Lee Jr. was widely regarded as one of the top rising corners in the SEC last season. 

Lee was nothing short of a star in 2025 during his freshman campaign in Tuscaloosa. The talented defensive back will look to pick up right where he left off in 2026, as Lee is expected to play a much larger role throughout his sophomore year this season. 

The Preseason All-SEC team was revealed Friday this week, and there is an argument to made that Lee was snubbed and could have qualified for the third team over a handful of talented defensive backs.

Alabama’s Keon Sabb, Auburn’s Champ Anthony, Georgia’s Khalil Barnes and Texas’ Jelani McDonald were all named to the Preseason All-SEC team over Lee, and the sophomore’s stats from last season matches up well against a few of those third-team members. He had more interceptions than three of the guys listed on the third team, despite not starting every game at cornerback.

Lee now has fuel to begin the year with a chip on his shoulder following the announcement.
