Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams spoke to reporters on Tuesday, and the junior wide receiver shared that he is making a change to his on-field look this season.
Coleman-Williams will not wear gloves during Alabama football’s home game against East Carolina this Saturday. He wore gloves during the 2024 and 2025 seasons, but he told reporters that Saturday won’t be the first time that he’s taken snaps without gloves.
“I’ve actually practiced with no gloves my whole life,” Coleman-Williams said. “Since I’ve been a receiver, I’ve been practicing without gloves.”
Coleman-Williams said he played without gloves in certain games his freshman year, and he’ll open the 2026 season gloveless.
The junior wide receiver led college football in dropped passes last season, and Coleman-Williams and the offensive staff have told the media that he’s been putting in extra work on the JUGS machine this offseason in hopes of correcting the drop issue. Perhaps playing without gloves is a change that Coleman-Williams needed to make, but only time will tell.
Alabama will host East Carolina on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. The game will air on ABC.
