Keelon Russell will have to continue to grow as a quarterback in his first year as a starter for the Crimson Tide. He continued to struggle with the operation side of things, and this put the Tide in some unfavorable positions early in this one. On the flip side, Russell showed you how good he can be when he is at his best. These growing pains will likely continue to show themselves throughout the first half of the season.

– No Costly Penalty Alabama Is A Dangerous Alabama

Several penalties hurt Alabama early in this one. Those penalties were pretty much nonexistent in the second half once the Crimson Tide’s defense started to dominate the game. The defensive dominance opened the door for the Crimson Tide’s offense to get rolling by putting them in position to score with some great field position.

The Crimson Tide’s offensive line struggled to find some consistency throughout the first half. This played alongside some operational issues in why the Tide struggled to find a rhythm on offense in the first half. This group is for sure a work in progress and will need to continue to make strides in getting better in both pass protection and run blocking.
