The Alabama Crimson Tide’s defensive chemistry has been on full display throughout the first two weeks of the 2026 season.

Alabama has allowed just two total offensive touchdowns against ECU and Kentucky to begin the year. The Tide’s defensive success is more than likely a direct result of the chemistry amongst the unit, as defensive coordinator Kane Wommack emphasized the importance of playing together and creating chemistry throughout the offseason.

Alabama cornerback Zabien Brown recently took a moment to speak about the impact Wommack has made on the unit as a whole, while also commenting on his personal relationship with the Tide’s defensive coordinator.

“Third year together, everybody’s together.” Brown said. “I know my personal relationship with him has grown, same with my teammates that have been here for three years. That carries over to the guys just now coming in. The bond everybody is building with coach Wommack is starting to show.”

Brown has recorded four total tackles over the first two weeks of the 2026 campaign. The veteran is set to play a crucial leadership role for the Tide both on and off the gridiron throughout the remainder of the year, and the chemistry amongst the defensive unit as a whole has been on full display entering Week 3.
