The Alabama Crimson Tide’s defense was elite in all aspects during Saturday’s 45-17 victory over Kentucky.
Alabama’s secondary held Wildcats’ quarterback Kenny Minchey to just 146 yards through the air. The Tide’s defensive depth will more than likely continue playing a critical role as the season progresses, and the unit as a whole has been excellent across the first two weeks of the 2026 campaign.
Alabama cornerback Zabien Brown recently took a moment to comment on the importance of the depth in the Tide’s secondary, as Brown claims their success is a direct result of the work that was put in throughout the offseason.
“It just shows the hard work we’ve put in all offseason.” Brown said. “How many guys we are able to trust and get in there, how many of those guys are making plays when their name is called.”
Brown and the rest of the Tide’s defensive unit allowed just one offensive touchdown against Kentucky last Saturday. The group as a whole has been nothing short of elite to begin the year, and Brown’s comments point to excellent chemistry and trust circulating around the Alabama locker room to begin the year.
