Alabama football’s injured tight end Josh Ford is expected to play against Georgia, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Ford broke his arm against Mississippi State last week, but Kalen DeBoer told media members Ford was determined to play earlier this week.

“Josh, he actually broke his arm in the game on Saturday,” DeBoer said. “Had surgery on Sunday and is determined to get on the football field. Actually, progressing along fairly well right now. We’ll kind of see how the week continues for him, and I know where his mindset’s at. He’s got to make sure he meets the levels that we need him to meet as far as being physically ready. So he’s doing a great job. It’s going well, so, you know, we’re optimistic.”

Ford is a key member of the Tide’s tight end room as a physical blocker.

Alabama and Georgia are set to square off in a top-10 matchup on Saturday. Kick off is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
