Alabama OC ‘bummed’ he did not get Tide wide receiver more snaps vs. Tennessee

Alabama football’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb was upset with the number of snaps Noah Rogers played against Tennessee.

The wide receiver missed several games at the beginning of the season after he suffered an injury during the Crimson Tide’s spring game, A-Day. He has managed to pull in three receptions for 55 yards since returning to the field, and it was assumed the wide receiver would get more playing time with Ryan Coleman-Williams sidelined at the moment.

Coleman-Williams missed the Tide’s game against Tennessee, and Grubb was upset Rogers was not more involved in the game.

“Noah, honestly, when I heard how many snaps he got after the game, I was a little bummed,” Grubb said. “Some of that was just, you know, due to lack of length of drives, you know, just not being sustainable and staying on the field, and poor performance on third down. So that part was a little bit tough. But when guys are rested and they come back to the sideline, you’re gonna put Rico back out there first, and that’s kind of how it played out.”

Rogers transferred to Alabama from North Carolina State. He pulled in 33 receptions for 441 yards last season with the Wolfpack.
