AJ McCarron gets Cincinnati its first victory in NFL preseason action

With each rep, it’s becoming more clear that AJ McCarron is comfortable in running an NFL offense.

He logged the majority of snaps during Thursday’s game against Detroit, connecting on 10 of 15 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. McCarron led Cincinnati on a 77-yard drive (12 plays) in the second quarter, which ended on a 12-yard pass from him to wide receiver Tyler Boyd for a score.

In two preseason games, the former Alabama standout and three-time national champion has completed 67.7 percent of his throws, while racking up 220 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Cincinnati improves to 1-1 in preseason action with its 30-14 win over the Lions.
