LSU cornerback Greedy Williams unloads on Alabama’s receiving unit

He has lit the final match of bulletin board material before LSU’s matchup with Alabama, and there is no turning back for cornerback Greedy Williams.

While most of the jabs from the Tigers have gone toward the Crimson Tide’s defense, the sophomore took his aim at arguably one of the best wide receiving units in college football through eight regular season games.

Despite the quartet of Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle shredding defensive secondaries, Williams told Max Olson of The Athletic on Friday that “people are scared to play them” and that “LSU is a different team.”

Shots fired.

Nick Saban’s voted of kicking a** on his “Hey Coach” Show just got tuned up a notch, and for co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers’ coach Josh Gattis, prepare to see some of his finest work as he intends to silence Williams and all inside Tiger Stadium this weekend.

The 6-foot-3, 184-pounder is an elite defender; however, he and the Tigers’ secondary has not seen a unit quite like this one. Williams has two interceptions and four pass breakups, but he must deliver a marquee performance after supplying Alabama with its last piece of motivation.
