The Yellow Jackets were Class 7A State Champions in 2015 and Fowler on the staff, it anticipates having a balanced offense. A four-star in the 2010 class, Fowler arrived on campus with a versatile skillset. He could run the football, catch passes out the backfield and block for other players.
Despite a knee injury limiting him to two games in 2012, Fowler had 113 carries for 738 yards rushing with five touchdowns in his career. His best year came in 2011 as he totaled 385 yards and four scores on 56 carries – en route to the Tide winning a national title.
Fowler’s soft hands were clutch in 2013, with five of seven career touchdown receptions occurring that season from AJ McCarron.
He played a role on two Southeastern Conference Championship teams (2012, 2014) and two BCS national title teams (2011-12) in his time.
McGill-Toolen has a hard worker and a great leader in Fowler.
