The University of Alabama has its new football head coach, but it loses a significant assistant.

Travaris Robinson, an elite recruiter and Alabama's secondary coach from 2022 to 2023, has accepted a co-defensive coordinator/safeties coach position at the University of Georgia. He shared the news via his social media.

Robinson, 42, mentored Terrion Arnold, Kool-Aid McKinstry, Malachi Moore, and Caleb Downs into having successful seasons last year for the Crimson Tide's secondary. He positioned McKinstry and Arnold to potentially be first-round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft and helped Kevin Steele coordinate Alabama's defense. Robinson has also been huge for the Tide on the recruiting trail, helping the program land strong classes in 2023 and 2024. This is a marquee loss for the Tide as he goes to UGA.
