Alabama football has an offensive minded head coach and two offensive coordinators ready to have this group maximize its potential in spring practice and next season.

Nick Sheridan, who is coaching quarterbacks, spoke two weeks ago about the main objectives for the Tide.

Sheridan, 35, was a former quarterback at the University of Michigan from 2006 to 2010.

He's been an offensive mind in the coaching ranks since 2011, when he started his career as a graduate assistant at Western Kentucky.

Sheridan coached quarterbacks at Indiana under Kalen DeBoer and served as offensive coordinator for two years (2020-21).

He spent the last two seasons at Washington (2022-23) as a tight ends coach, but Sheridan is excited about helping the Tide be explosive on offense.

"The number one thing we have to do is install our system," Sheridan said on March 8. "The scheme that is involved, and then number two, we have to execute those plays with the right mentality and mindset. There are fundamentals involved in those areas, but knowing what to do and how to do it... that is what we are focusing on in spring practice."

Sheridan saw good things in Alabama's first week of practice, including the growth of Jalen Milroe and decision of moving five-star Caleb Odom to wide receiver being a good one. He desires to have an offense that puts constant pressure and frustration on defenses about how to attack it. Reporters will get their second media viewing period in Thursday's practice.
