Akylin Dear received a visit from Alabama football's running back coach Robert Gillespie on Monday.

Dear is currently committed to the Ole Miss Rebels and is a 2025 four-star running back prospect. Alabama appears to still have its sights on the Mississippi product despite his commitment to the Rebels.

The Ole Miss commit has had good things to say about Gillespie in the past when discussing where Alabama stood in his recruitment.

“They still at the top of my board because coach (Robert) Gillespie still there,” Dear told Touchdown Alabama. “I like coach DeBoer. I got to get there to meet the coaching staff.”

Deer was a tenacious runner with an explosive burst as a junior. The four-star finished the 2023 football season with 2,016 rushing yards and 27 rushing touchdowns.
