Alabama held practice indoors Monday after defeating Auburn 29-13 last week. The Crimson Tide will face Florida in a Southeastern Conference title game for a third time under head coach Nick Saban. Yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine providing all updates from the Tide’s first game week session for Florida.
Notes from Monday’s practice
- Outside linebacker Denzel Devall appeared to be limited in drills. He sustained a minor injury against Auburn, but will be “OK,” according to Saban. Dillon Lee took all outside ‘backers’ through drills.
- Running back Kenyan Drake (arm) was back at practice Monday. He participated fully in drills behind Derrick Henry, but his right arm still remains in a brace. Regardless of suiting up, Drake did not play against the Tigers. The bright side to this is his chances of playing against Florida in Atlanta are better.
- Running backs Ronnie Clark and Derrick Gore both wore No. 21 jerseys for scout team, representing Gators’ tailback Kelvin Taylor. He has 977 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 241 carries.
- Freshman cornerback Kendall Sheffield sporting a No. 1 scout team, to represent Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves, III. Hargreaves leads the team in interceptions (four) and has 26 total tackles.
