Breaking Down Emil Ekiyor.

Emil Ekiyor committed to The Crimson Tide on Oct. 29 and became Alabama’s 11th commit.

Ekiyor’s decision could have a big impact on The Crimson Tide. He is one of the top offensive lineman in the nation and all signs point to Alabama lining him up at the center position. Alabama’s current starting center, Bradley Bozeman, is a senior and will depart from The Capstone at the end of the season. Ekiyor will have to work extremely hard and earn the trust of Alabama’s coaching staff to receive a starting spot, but it is a possibility.

Alabama is getting a stud in Ekiyor. At 6’2″ 322 pounds, he is quick off the ball and brings the fight to defensive linemen on running plays. He is also great at spreading his base making it very hard for defensive linemen to get around him and to the quarterback. He is also great at making down field blocks on run plays.

Great offensive linemen have been a big part of Alabama’s success. They have lead the way for two Heisman winning running back and several national championships. Ekiyor has the potential to be another one of those great.

Alabama currently has two offensive lineman commits in their 2018 recruiting class. They did have three before Jarret Bell decided to decommit.
