The members of the 2020 College Football Hall of Fame will be announced prior to the College Football Playoff National Championship in New Orleans, La., however, the College Football Hall of Fame Foundation announced the names that are on the ballot for voting on Monday.
Among the royalty are two former University of Alabama stars, Chris Samuels and E.J. Junior.
The first of the pair was an offensive tackle under coaches Eugene “Gene” Stallings and Mike DuBose, while the latter was a linebacker under legendary coach Paul W. “Bear” Bryant.

Samuels, who played from 1996-99, won the Outland Trophy, SEC’s Jacobs Blocking Trophy and was named a consensus All-American in 1999. The native of Mobile, Ala., would also be named first team All-SEC that year and helped running back Shaun Alexander total 1,383 yards – en route to the Crimson Tide winning a conference title and appearing in the 2000 Orange Bowl.
Samuels did not allow a sack in 1999.
As for Junior, he was a two-time national champion (1978-79) and two-time conference champion.
He made first team All-SEC on three different occasions and was an All-American as a senior in 1980.
Junior was the SEC’s Lineman of the Year in 1980 and was a pivotal factor on Alabama’s historic goal line stand against Penn State in the 1979 Sugar Bowl for a national title.
The deadline to vote on this year’s Hall of Fame class is June 21.
