Alabama’s 2020 4-Star wide receiver signee, Javon Baker, is working on his quickness and his hand-eye coordination with the extra time he currently has on his hands.
Baker is a product of McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. The Georgia product was one of the three wide receivers Alabama signed in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Not only is Baker putting in work during this time; he is also doing it alongside an NFL Super Bowl winner and current Kansas City Chiefs’ wideout, Mecole Hardman, as they worked out together recently.

The drills Baker performed in the video focuses on feet movement, speed out of the break and catching the football. Similar to Hardman, Baker is a speedy wideout, who is extremely athletic.
Alabama’s coaching staff is encouraging current players and summer enrollees to stay in shape by during workouts they can perform while practicing social distancing.
Alabama’s summer enrollees usually enroll into the University of Alabama in May, which may get push back due to concerns over COVID-19. At the moment, no official decision has been made on when Alabama will be able to return players to campus.
There are multiple veteran wideouts returning to Alabama’s roster this season, but there is still room for a freshman wideout to find a spot in the rotation. Baker is a strong contender to be that freshman.
