Zach Pyron is set to turn 30-0 record as a starter into more D1 offers

There is no denying that Zach Pyron is a winner.

He has done it time and time again and has never tasted the sour texture of defeat. With a 30-0 record as a starter and two state championships under his belt, the class of 2022 quarterback is looking to turn those wins into more offers as he makes the transition from Fyffe High School to 6A powerhouse, Pinson Valley.

“I think it will allow coaches to see that not only can I run the ball, but I can throw it,” Pyron said. “It is also going to help the mental aspects of my game, so when I do make that next jump to the college level, I will be where I need to be mentally and have plenty of knowledge of the game. That way, I will be ready to play whenever I get the opportunity in college.”

Pinson Valley looks to be the perfect place for Pyron to show off his skills as a passer. The Indians are loaded with talent this season and the junior quarterback will have several weapons at his disposal, including highly recruited 2021 prospects: Ga’Quincy McKinstry and Kenji Christian. A tough 2020 Fall schedule should also help Pyron grow as a quarterback.

The Troy Trojans put an offer on the table for Pyron in June, becoming the first school to do so. As other programs continue to show interest, the Pinson Valley signal-caller is working to show coaches that he will work extremely hard once he reaches the next level.

“I am an extremely hard worker,” Pyron added. “I know everyone says that, but when I say it, I mean it. In the weight room, I work extremely hard and I am always pushing myself. I will find the strongest guy in there and try to compete with him even if I am not the strongest because it is only going to help me get better. Off the field, school is something that is very important to me. I am not going to have any problems academically. I am competitive when it comes to everything, just super competitive.”

Some added on weight have the 6-3 prospect at 208 pounds heading into the upcoming football season. Although Fyffe’s offense was a heavy-run one, Pyron did get the opportunity to show glimpses of what he can do as a passer as he showed good accuracy when throwing the ball deep and the ability to throw the ball on the run. There is also no denying what Pyron can do with the ball in his hand on the run as he runs with pure strength.
