People are not happy with this Alabama defense.
Nick Saban is frustrated, fans are frustrated and former players are disappointed. Despite an exceptional performance from the Crimson Tide’s offense in a 63-48 victory over Ole Miss, it is the other side of the ball drawing attention.
The Tide allowed 647 yards offensively (most by a Saban defense at Alabama) to Mississippi and it allowed four fourth down conversions.
In terms of points, the 48 for Ole Miss was the most given up by a Saban-coached defense to an unranked opponent in the AP Poll era.
Alabama could not tackle, players appeared to be lost numerous times on the field and though it recorded two sacks, the pressure did not hit home to Mississippi’s passing game until late in the second half.

Despite the wet field conditions, fans were not proud of the defensive product on the field.
When it comes to former players, the trio of Mack Wilson, Eddie Jackson and Terrell Lewis all expressed their disappointment with the defense on social media.
At this point moving forward we gotta make the defensive game plan simple. Them boys looking like they thinking to much. Players running around trying to get lined up looking lost as ever. ??♂️

Defense gotta buckle down and get it going this 4th quarter. They clearly can’t stop our offense.

Even in a time where offenses are becoming more dominant, there are no excuses for the sloppy play.
For a program that prides itself on defense, Lane Kiffin exploited Alabama and no one of Tide nation is happy.
