Why Kalen DeBoer loves the direction Alabama football’s offensive line is heading

Kalen DeBoer feels the new-look Alabama Crimson Tide’s offensive line is coming together quite nicely ahead of the 2026 season.

The Crimson Tide lost five offensive linemen with starting experience to the NFL or transfer portal after the 2025 season. In response, Alabama signed six offensive linemen from the transfer portal and five offensive linemen from the 2026 recruiting class.

DeBoer was asked about his latest thoughts on the Tide’s offensive line at the Mobile Sports Hall of Fame banquet on Tuesday.

“We have brought in a number of players,” DeBoer said. “We had to with the graduation of five guys, a couple guys in the NFL, a couple more in the portal. So, there were some needs. Of course, we brought some high school guys in and the rest had to be filled in with the portal. So, they’re all working hard. Love the direction that it’s headed.”

The Alabama head coach remains confident in the Tide’s new offensive line coach Adrian Klemm.

“Coach Klemm, our offensive line coach, has done a great job, not just from a teaching aspect, but the chemistry, really pushing them,” DeBoer said. “He has great high expectations. He’s done it at a high level. He knows it’s supposed to look like, not just in college, but the NFL. And those guys really, I think, respect that part about it. His efficiency of teaching, I think, stands out to me and they appreciate that.”

Klemm was hired after the Tide parted ways with Chris Kapilovic after the 2025 season.
