Last week, Najee Harris achieved something special in building his professional brand.

The former University of Alabama running back signed a contract with Nike. He joins Jaylen Waddle as the second Crimson Tide prospect in this year’s NFL Draft class to ink a deal with the company. Josh Jacobs and Jerry Jeudy, Harris’ former teammates, congratulated him on making the move. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder is arguably the best player at his position in this draft.

Harris totaled 1,466 rushing yards, 425 receiving yards, and 30 total touchdowns in 2020. He was a Heisman finalist, first-team Unanimous All-American, first-team All-SEC selection, and the Doak Walker Award winner. A native of Antioch, Calif., Harris’ career at Alabama ended with him becoming the school’s all-time leading rusher.

He recorded 3,843 yards rushing and 46 rushing touchdowns in four seasons. Harris also has the most scores responsible for by a back (57) in program history.
