Major news has happened from the front office of the Southeastern Conference, and it’s big for Alabama football.
The SEC announced today it will allow immediate eligibility for intraconference transfers. The presidents and chancellors within the conference voted, and the rule was approved.
This allows student-athletes in the SEC to transfer to schools within the conference and not sit out a year. After spending two seasons at Tennessee, Henry To’oto’o entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Since then, the talented linebacker announced on Twitter that he had committed to Alabama.

With the new rule, To’oto’o will be immediately eligible to play and have an impact on the Crimson Tide’s defense.

He recorded 148 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, five quarterback pressures, four pass breakups, and one interception through 23 games with the Volunteers. Alabama’s defense is expected to be strong this fall, but having To’oto’o available is going to be massive.
