Alabama’s first scrimmage of fall camp is in the books.
We learned a few things about this group last week, especially on defense. The Crimson Tide is deep on its defensive line, its linebackers are playmakers, and it has marquee athletes in the secondary. Alabama recorded two interceptions and forced a fumble during a game-like practice in the preseason. Offensively, one has to like what Bill O’Brien is doing thus far.

Bryce Young tossed three touchdowns, Paul Tyson had a touchdown, Trey Sanders looked explosive, and young wide receivers are stepping up. The Tide made some explosive plays on offense, but Nick Saban wants the players around Young to play better.
Saban said Young ‘excelled’ when he had opportunities to make plays. Alabama will have its second scrimmage this weekend.
