Alabama players and coaches said many things in the summer.

Jameson Williams is one aspect they got right.

Nick Saban said Williams had ‘juice’ at SEC Media Days, and he followed it up by handing the transfer from Ohio State an incredible compliment. Crimson Tide fans saw the mentality he plays with against Texas A&M.

Despite a 38-41 loss to the Aggies, he came with a mindset to win. Bryce Young targeted him 13 times, and the Missouri native came up huge for his sophomore quarterback at Kyle Field.

Williams posted 10 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Both of his scores came in the fourth quarter, including a 7-yard touchdown.

He gave Alabama a 36-31 lead with his efforts and responded by collecting a pass for the two-point conversion. Williams averaged 14.6 yards per catch while nine of his 10 receptions went for first downs or scores.

When he needed a play to boost momentum, Young looked to Williams.

The 6-foot-2, 189-pounder made clutch plays and demonstrated the traits of a go-to wide receiver. Williams also possessed a sense of urgency with his body language on the field.

He was motivating himself and other players to remain focus and help the passing attack.

After his second touchdown catch, fans and former Tide players praised him via Twitter.

They are thankful that Alabama pulled him from the portal. Williams has two 100-yard games for the Tide.

He leads the receiver room for yards (510), touchdowns (five), yards per catch (18.9), and yards per game (85).

John Metchie is talented, but Williams is Alabama’s most consistent weapon right now.
