Will Anderson has one national award for his efforts as a sophomore.

He won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, but he was snubbed for other national defensive honors.

Anderson did not get selected to New York City as a Heisman finalist. He was not chosen for the Butkus Award or Lott IMPACT Trophy, and he did not win the Bednarik or Rotary Lombardi awards. The Bednarik honor goes to the Defensive Player of the Year in college football from the Maxwell Football Club. Jordan Davis, a defensive tackle for Georgia, won the award.

Davis totaled 28 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and one quarterback hurry. He was a non-factor in the SEC Championship Game versus Alabama’s offensive line. Anderson posted 91 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, and nine quarterback hurries.

He leads the nation in sacks and tackles for loss. Anderson won SEC Defensive Player of the Year and made first-team All-SEC, but he’s been shunned for national honors. Alabama players and fans reacted to this latest snubbing of Anderson on Twitter.
