Alabama misses out on Jordan Addison sweepstakes as Biletnikoff winner chooses USC

Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher took over social media Thursday with a feud dipped in NIL.

Opinions came from everywhere, but one thing got lost in the shuffle. Jordan Addison, a transfer wide receiver from Pittsburgh, announced via Twitter his transfer destination. As the reigning Fred Biletnikoff Award winner, he is going to the University of Southern California. Addison chose not to visit Alabama — regardless of reports saying he was expected to visit the Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot, 175-pounder had 100 catches in 2021 for 1,593 receiving yards and 18 total touchdowns for the Panthers.

Alabama missed out on Addison, but it has several receivers on its roster for the fall. Coach Saban returns veterans such as Christian Leary, Traeshon Holden, Ja’Corey Brooks, JoJo Earle, and Thaiu Jones-Bell. He pulled Jermaine Burton and Tyler Harrell from the transfer portal. Alabama signed Isaiah Bond, Kobe Prentice, and Shazz Preston for its recent recruiting class.

It would have been nice for the Tide to have a Biletnikoff winner on its roster, but it has the playmakers and Bryce Young at quarterback to make a run at a national championship.
