Eagles QB Jalen Hurts now ‘doubtful’ for Sunday’s game against Saints

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (#1) runs against the Green Bay Packers defense in Sunday's matchup.
Bill Streicher - USA TODAY Sports

Jalen Hurts made great strides for the Philadelphia Eagles in practice this week, but he may not go against the Saints.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Hurts is graded as ‘doubtful’ for Sunday’s matchup.

He sustained a sprained SC joint to his shoulder in Philadelphia’s 25-20 victory over Chicago. The second-year starter did not play against the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve. He wants to help the Eagles secure the No. 1 seed for the NFC playoffs and earn home-field advantage. Nick Sirianni, head coach of the Eagles, said Hurts’ health and safety come first. He has pushed all week and the team is confident he will return in the short term. It looks like we may see Garnder Minshew against New Orleans.

Hurts is a leading candidate for NFL’s Most Valuable Player. He has 3,472 passing yards and 35 total touchdowns.
